Production Supervisor (Billerica, MA)

Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor will oversee the overall operation of the production floor to ensure continuous flow and on time delivery of product to the customer at the highest quality and lowest cost within a build to order/build to stock manufacturing environment. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines to manufacture parts or products.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Supervise activities of production personnel including but not limited to work assignments, training and cross training, attendance, vacation planning, performance and/or disciplinary recommendations to the management.
• Ensure regulatory and safety compliance for all processes related to and supporting the production area.
• Interpret and communicate specifications, blueprints and work instructions as required.
• Develops, recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Ensure new product introduction activities are supported and new products are implemented in a timely fashion.
• Manage all capacity requirements. Aims to meet and exceed all productivity targets.
• Ensure an adequate training process is documented and in place for all production personnel.
• Ensure plant and equipment maintenance plans are in place and followed. Areas include, manufacturing equipment maintenance and calibration.

General Education and Background Requirements:
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent project management skills. Ability to multi-task with a pro-active approach to issue resolution.
• Ability to clearly think through the critical tasks that need to be done (or facilitate team through this process) assign ownership and due dates.
• Anticipates issues and sets appropriate contingency plans during planning process.
• Takes corrective action when needed to keep program on track, communicates upward when objectives cannot be met with recovery plan.
• Strong commitment to employee development with an emphasis on selection and retention.
• Minimum five years of related supervisory experience (preferably in medical instruments/device field) with progressive growth in responsibilities and accountability.

Quality Control Floor Inspector
Summary of Position:
We are seeking an experienced mechanical Quality Control Inspector for our 1st shift that will support the machine shop manufacturing operation. This position requires performing quality control inspections on a variety of tight-tolerance parts and assemblies using the equipment listed below, as well as maintaining a full-time presence to represent the Quality team on the production floor. The candidate must be able to work independently to perform and document first piece and in-process inspections in accordance with the documented LAB Medical Quality Management System. Must also be able to work collaboratively with Quality and Production personnel to assist in final inspections and/or First Article Inspections as needed. Write nonconformance reports as required and communicate inspection results to the organization through electronic and hard copy systems. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years’ experience working as a quality inspector in a machine shop or similar environment, preferably in a medical device, automotive, or aerospace setting.
• Familiarity with CMM (Zeiss Calypso) programming and/or operation preferred
• Micro-Vu, Keyence, or similar vision system experience desired
• Experience using standard measuring equipment such as optical comparators, micrometers, calipers, pin gages, etc.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
• Ability to document detailed inspection results
• ASQ certification a plus
• Experience in an FDA-regulated, ISO 13485:2016 compliant environment is desired
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and MRP systems is preferred

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer with expertise in programming CNC machines for medical parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC milling, mill-turn, and/or Swiss machines, along with proficiency in CAD/CAM software and G-code/M-code programming. This role involves developing and optimizing CNC programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for milling, mill-turn, and Swiss machines.
• Utilize CAD/CAM software (preferably Esprit, SolidWorks, or Mastercam) to generate accurate toolpaths.
